Oculus Quest is a self-contained virtual reality platform from the makers of the Oculus Rift.
Overview:
The Oculus Quest is a standalone virtual reality headset with inside-out tracking and two hand controllers. It launched on May 21, 2019 at a price of $399 for a device with 64GB of storage and $499 for 128GB of storage. The Quest can cast its display to Google Chromecast devices, allowing for external viewing of VR content.
Despite being a smaller, less-powerful device than the PC-based hardware that typically drives an Oculus Rift, several games that appeared on the Rift store are making their way to the Quest, including Beat Saber, Space Pirate Trainer, Superhot VR, and more.
On November 18th, 2019 the Oculus Quest was given a new piece software called the Oculus Link. When hooked into a VR capable PC via a USB C to USB A 3.0 capable and operate and play Oculus Rift games utilizing the PC hardware.
The Oculus Quest requires a phone running an Oculus app for setup purposes.
Oculus Go:
Is an even more budget friendly stand alone VR headset that allows instant Virtual Reality with the use over 1, 000 apps, the same kind of apps you'd see on a Roku device, Amazon Fire Stick device and others. There is a 32GB version for 199.00$ and a 64GB version for 248.99$. The headset comes with one controller and allows you to access most of the stuff you get on the Quest, including many of the games.
