In a recent report by Insider Gaming, trustworthy industry insider Tom Henderson claimed that his sources have confirmed a new trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be premiered at The Game Awards 2022, revealing the game's official release date and detailing the pre-orders.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was originally announced back in May 2022 with a cinematic trailer, promising a 2023 launch. The first trailer revealed that players will continue their adventure as Cal Kestis in the Star Wars lore, but no more details were shared.
As a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Survivor is one of the anticipated projects from Star Wars lore for next year, while Lucasfilm is also partnering with a number of other studios and companies to bring more Star Wars games.
Similar to the previous title, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will also be a single-player story-driven experience, unfolding the adventure of Cal five years after the events of the original game, where he will try to stand against the Empire as one of the few remaining Jedi in the galaxy. The developers promise improved and expanded worlds and characters as well as thrilling combat for the sequel. The combat system of Fallen Order was acclaimed at the time as one of the most stellar aspects of the game.
Unlike its predecessor, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will only be available on PC and current-gen consoles - PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. This means players who have played the original game on last-gen consoles will need to either upgrade their console or migrate to PC to experience the sequel.
Previously, another industry insider Jeff Grubb claimed that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2023, which is someday between January 1 and March 31 in 2023.
Electronic Arts already has one more triple-A title for this year to launch, which is Need For Speed Unbound. After that, the company will start the new year with Dead Space Remake coming in January 2023. If Grubb's information turns out to be true, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor could be EA's next major launch after Dead Space Remake in 2023.
