Peter Parker's famous clone returns in The Amazing Spider-Man #14, brooding and ready for revenge while sporting his villainous new identity, Chasm.
A preview for the issue shows Ben Reilly mistaken for Peter by a collection agent, who's been harassing the original web-slinger for money ever since the start of the current The Amazing Spider-Man series. After brushing the man away, Ben meets with his girlfriend, Janine Godbe, and suits up as Chasm before entering a portal. Madelyne Pryor -- better known as the Goblin Queen -- is shown as well, picking up from the cliffhanger in Free Comic Book Day 2022: Spider-Man/Venom #1, which revealed that Chasm and the Goblin Queen have allied with each other to make Peter's life miserable.

The Amazing Spider-Man #14 serves as a prelude for Dark Web, a new Marvel event that embroils Spider-Man, Venom, the X-Men and more. Ben makes his comic book return in the issue after he made his Chasm debut in Issue #93 of the previous The Amazing Spider-Man series, the finale of the "Beyond" storyline.
Ben Reilly’s Journey From Hero to Villain, Explained
"Beyond" turned Ben into New York City's main Spider-Man while Peter was hospitalized. Aided by the shadowy Beyond Corporation, Ben was given a new suit, fancy gadgets and the chance to step into the spotlight after an overshadowed superhero career, first as Peter's clone in the notorious "Clone Saga" of the '90s and then as his own heroic identity, the Scarlet Spider.
Despite initial success in his new role, Ben fell victim to the Beyond Corporation's schemes, and rebelled against their machinations. As a result, Beyond erased the memories Ben had from Peter's life, and pit the two Spider-Men against one another after Peter refused to use the company's technology to restore Ben's mind. Their battle ended with Ben falling into a vat of psychoactive goo, granting him unknown powers and prompting him to don a new costume and moniker of Chasm.
The Amazing Spider-Man #14 is written by Zeb Wells and features four stories contributed to by pencilers Michael Dowling, Kyle Hotz, Terry Dodson and Ryan Stegman, inkers Rachel Dodson, Tom Townsend and JP Mayer, and colorists Richard Isanove, Dan Brown and Matt Hollingsworth. The issue is lettered by VC's Joe Caramagna and boasts a main cover by John Romita Jr., Scott Hanna and Marcio Menyz. Variant covers for the issue feature the work of Hotz, Brown, Alex Maleev, Ed McGuinness, Marcio Menyz and John Staub. The issue goes on sale Nov. 23 from Marvel.
