Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: How to Get and Evolve Charcadet into Ceruledge and Armarouge

Nov 22, 2022 · 14

Charcadet and its evolutions of Ceruledge and Armarouge were first introduced in the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet games, and let's just say, they look really, really cool. This is a good enough reason for players to flock to finding out just how to obtain this Pokemon and its evolutions, but that's not all. The evolved versions actually turn out to be some of the strongest you can catch in the wild as well.

So if you prefer the popular new Pokemon in town over old fan favorites such as Dragonite, let's explore more.

You will need to obtain a Charcadet first, as the evolutions of Ceruledge and Armarouge are not obtainable on their own. We'll teach you the secret to evolving Charcadet into the next stage, depending on which Pokemon game you have: Scarlet or Violet.

Where to Get Charcadet

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: How to Get and Evolve Charcadet into Ceruledge and Armarouge

Charcadet are specifically found in the Paldea region, which is the entire continent you are on when you play Pokemon Scarlet or Violet. You can get Charcadet almost anywhere other than the northern region of the map. This Pokemon is rarely seen, so you may have to set out on a long journey to spot one. It can appear in any of the following regions, but South Province (Area Three) has the best chances:

  • Asado Desert
  • East Province Area One
  • East Province Area Two
  • East Province Area Three
  • South Province Area Three (Best Spawn Rate)
  • South Province Area Four
  • South Province Area Five
  • Tagtree Thicket
  • West Province Area One
  • West Province Area Two
  • West Province Area Three

Charcadet is only 2 feet tall, so make sure you are looking for small Pokemon when hunting for one. After all, it is classified as a Fire Child Pokemon. You can also make sandwiches and eat food such as a Pickle Sandwich that boost the chance of Fire Pokemon to spawn, by obtaining the Encounter Power: Fire buff.

How To Evolve Charcadet in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Charcadet can evolve into Ceruledge only if you are using the Pokemon Violet game, and into Armarouge only if you are using the Pokemon Scarlet game.

First, regardless of which game version you are playing, you will need to fly or travel to the town Pokecenter Zapapico (East), located in the East Province (Area Three). This town is on the East side of the map, close to The Great Crater of Paldea.

When you get to this town, head west from this Pokecenter to find an NPC standing in front of the small fountain. This NPC differs depending on version:

  • Pokemon Violet: woman dressed in jeans, with a red shirt and a jean jacket.
  • Pokemon Scarlet: man dressed in light jeans and a checkered shirt

They should have a speech bubble above them, "Fancy a trade?". The next part of the process depends on which game version you are playing, as explained in the next sections.

To obtain these chips, you will need to either catch or defeat wild Sinistea Pokemon. Follow our How To Get Sinistea guide here. You can find them in the following locations, so be sure to check these areas and also utilize your mini map in case their icon pops up to show you they may be spawning at your location:

  • South Province Area 6
  • East Province Area 3

After you've collected the 10 Sinistea Chips, head back to the NPC and trade them. They will give you a Malicious Armor item. You can now go into your bag, find the Malicious Armor, and click Use This Item. Use it on Charcadet, and it will evolve into Ceruledge!
