Pokemon Go is bringing a very popular Pokemon for this week's Spotlight Hour, and fans are curious to know what the event will feature this time around.
This week's Spotlight Hour will be kicking off at 6 pm local time and for the next hour, you will see a lot more Porygon than you usually see in the wild. Porygon is one of the Pokemon which features in the original lot in Generation 1, so fans would be quite well acquainted with the Pokemon. It has two evolutions, Porygon2 and PorygonZ. The spawn rate doubles, and at the same time, you will be getting a number of bonuses for the event.
The bonus for this week will excite a number of fans out there, as they will be getting twice the amount of candy for catching Pokemon. Considering that candies are one of the most crucial items in the game, players use these events to collect as many candies as they can. These candies can be used to evolve your Porygon if you can't find any of its evolutions around you.
Lastly, as far as the shiny status of the Pokemon is concerned, this week we will indeed be getting a Pokemon with a shiny variant. A regular Porygon has a pink and bluish-green color palette, but that changes to a purple theme for the shiny variant. This stark difference makes it quite easy to spot a shiny Porygon in the wild. However, it should be noted that it still takes quite a bit of time to catch a shiny Porygon considering that the shiny rates stay the same during the event. If you are looking for boosted shiny rates instead, you might need to wait until the Pokemon gets featured on a Community Day. With a new Pokemon game releasing later this week, one can expect some more exciting events in Pokemon Go in the coming days.
