Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer matches are dominated by Assault Rifles and Submachine Guns, which is understandable -- both weapon types provide the least amount of risks and the highest reward potential among all other weapon types. For those who are fans of SMGs, the Lachmann Sub or the FSS Hurricane can prove decent choices for close-quarters combat. However, you might want to consider utilizing the Vaznev-9K, a curious SMG that can be mistaken for an Assault Rifle.
The Vaznev-9K is a solid choice for players who mainly use Submachine Guns due to their high fire rate and high mobility. However, while this gun is great up close, its effective range and high bullet velocity allow it to perform considerably well in mid-range engagements. With an ADS on the faster end of most SMGs and a standard magazine size of 30 rounds, it's clear that this gun is a shining example of a fast and reliable weapon. While this gun may be desirable for most, the Vaznev-9K cannot be unlocked by traditional means. Instead, players must jump over numerous hurdles by progressing through the Kastov 762 Weapon Tree.
How To Unlock The Vaznev-9K In Modern Warfare 2
Unlocking the Vaznev-9K is quite a lengthy and difficult task due to the fact that this nifty SMG is the third alternative weapon available for the Kastov 762 Weapon Platform. First and foremost, you will need to reach level 23 to gain access to the Kastov 762 Assault Rifle. You will then need to reach weapon level 10 with the Kastov 762 in order to gain access to the Kastov 545. Now that you have obtained the Kastov 545, you are going to need to get it to weapon level 13 to unlock the Kastov-74 U.
All that is left now is to reach weapon level 15 with the Kastov-74 U to finally obtain the Vaznev-9K Submachine Gun. To level up your weapons in Modern Warfare 2, you will need to obtain Weapon XP which is awarded for most in-game actions that also reward you with regular XP. However, the best way to rack up tonnes of Weapon XP is to simply gain eliminations with the gun you wish to level up.
Vaznev-9K Best Attachments
The class setup for the Vaznev-9K will aim to improve the various strengths of this particular weapon -- mainly its mobility and impressive range. We have chosen attachments like the XTEN RR-40 to increase the Vaznev-9Ks effective range while also keeping players off the mini-map while firing, and the FT TAC ELITE STOCK to keep the recoil moderate and manageable, making it highly accurate at farther ranges.
The TRUE-TAC GRIP attachment is also an important attachment for this setup due to the fact that it increases the sprint-to-fire and aim-down-sight speed of this gun, keeping it fast and reliable for aggressive players. Below, you can find the full list of attachments for this weapon:
|XTEN RR-40 (Muzzle)||
|STOVL DR LASER BOX (Laser)||
|TRUE-TAC GRIP (Rear Grip)||
|FT TAC ELITE STOCK (Stock)||
|45 ROUND MAG (Magazine)||
While the above attachments are a great fit for the Vaznev-9K, some players are not entirely comfortable using iron sights. If you want to run an optic, then you can swap out the STOVL DR LASER BOX for something like the SLIMLINE PRO or even the S7 MINI. These sights do not necessarily provide too much of a drawback, but they will slow down your ADS speed by a small amount.
Equipping Scavenger as your base perk will eliminate the need for a backup weapon, and utilizing Fast Hands will minimize the risk of you getting caught while reloading. Therefore, rocking a launcher like the PILA or the JOKR is a great option to remove enemy Killstreaks from the airspace. After all, nothing hurts a run-and-gun player more than a Chopper Gunner, a VTOL Jet, or a Gunship.
However, if you are wary about not having a swap-to-weapon to rely on during the start of a match, then the X12 is a good choice. Your primary will handle engagements at a longer range, so the X12 is great to use against players who decide to get too close and personal when you need to reload. An even better option is the X13 Auto, though it is less effective against multiple opponents -- unless you are running an extended magazine attachment.
Perks can make or break a loadout, so choosing attachments that complement your attachment choices is a must to make the most of your weapon. We have chosen Fast Hands as the Bonus Perk, mainly because the 45 ROUND MAG slows down your reload time considerably. For the Base Perks, Scavenger is a great option, especially because you will only have two magazines worth of ammo reserve in one life. Therefore, skilled players will run out of ammo fairly quickly without Scavenger.
Your second base perk can be entirely your choice, though Tracker can be great not only for tracking enemy trails but to also withhold important Intel from the enemy team (such as kill markers). Finally, Ghost will pair well with the XTEN RR-40 attachment quite nicely as you will be kept off the mini-map even when enemy UAVs are active.
|Base Perks||Bonus Perk (Earned in Match)||Ultimate Perk (Earned in Match)|
|Tracker & Scavenger||Fast Hands||Ghost|
