The launch of Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 brings all-new content with Warzone 2 and DMZ into the mix. An all-new Battle Pass has also made its debut, and players can progress through the various tiers to unlock new rewards, including the BAS-P SMG and the XMR Sniper Rifle. Outside the Battle Pass, players can also obtain the brand new Assault Rifle called the M13B.
The M13B is an Assault Rifle that features a high fire rate and low recoil, making it an exceptionally strong weapon for close-to-mid-range engagements. The gun itself can be used from afar but is beaten by every other Assault Rifle when it comes to range. However, the M13B has high handling and mobility, making it a good gun to use for running and gunning.
How To Unlock The M13B
The M13B is a special case when it comes to weapon unlocks in Modern Warfare 2. Most guns can either be unlocked through ranking up or leveling up other guns belonging to the same Weapon Platform. However, to unlock the M13B, you will have to first find it within DMZ and then successfully Extract it with the gun in your inventory. The M13B is wielded by The Chemist, a hostile NPC found within the Radiation Zone of Al Mazrah.
The Radiation Zone is quite hard to miss, as it is permanently revealed on the map. Before heading here, make sure you have a Gas Mask because, without one, you will slowly lose health within this area. Gas Masks can be purchased from Buy Stations or can be looted from enemies within the Radioactive Zone.
The Chemist can be found near the center of the Radiation Zone and can be identified by his unique yellow-hazmat suit. All that is left now is to defeat the Chemist, obtain the M13B Blueprint that he is carrying, locate the nearest Extract Point, and extract out of the match. Once done successfully, you will have the M13B unlocked for all modes. Do note that only one person in a single match of DMZ can obtain the M13B this way, and if you cannot find the Chemist within this area, you will have to try again in a different game.
If you are looking to bypass this method altogether, then all you need is a buddy who has the M13B in their inventory in the main DMZ menu. Simply party up with them and have them load into a game of DMZ with the M13B. They can then drop the M13B for you, and you can then progress to the nearest Extract Zone for extraction. Upon successfully extracting out of Al Mazrah, you will unlock the M13B for all modes. It's not clear if this method is intended by the developers or not, and it may not work in future updates.
The Best Attachments For The M13B
|COMMANDO FOREGRIP (Underbarrel)||
|BRUEN FLASH GRIP (Rear Grip)||
|45 ROUND MAG (Magazine)||
|VLK LZR 7MW (Laser)||
The attachments we have chosen will increase the range, accuracy, and handling of this gun, without having to sacrifice too much mobility. Attachments like the ECHOLESS-80 increase damage range and smooth out the recoil for clearer shooting while also keeping you off the radar.
The VLK LZR 7MW and BRUEN FLASH GRIP attachments will up the aim-down-sight and sprint-to-fire speed. This allows you to get your gun up significantly quicker in moments when you encounter an enemy whilst sprinting. Lastly, the COMMANDO FOREGRIP will add a bit more stabilization to your recoil, making it much easier to control at longer ranges.
We have also chosen the 45-ROUND MAG to compensate for the M13B's high fire rate. But you can swap this out for an optic like the SLIMLINE PRO to gain back some of that mobility and handling.
The M13B will lead the way for most of your gunfights, and as you will be running Scavengers as your Bonus Perk, there is no need to carry a swap-to-weapon. So, go ahead and run the PILA as a secondary. The PILA is a great launcher due to its ability to take down killstreaks, but it also has a free-fire option to use against enemy players. This also translates to Warzone and DMZ, and the PILA can be used to take out helicopters and ground vehicles.
The Best Perks
|Base Perks||Bonus Perk (Earned in Match)||Ultimate Perk (Earned in Match)|
|Double Time & Scavenger||Fast Hands||Ghost|
For this loadout, we recommend choosing Double Time to keep yourself agile, which allows you to close the distance between you and enemy players. This is especially useful in game modes like Warzone, DMZ, and Ground War because the range on the M13B is still on the low side. Next, go ahead and utilize Scavenger. With the M13B's fast fire rate, you will be burning through your ammunition fairly quickly. Choosing Scavenger will allow you to resupply your ammunition so long as you are getting kills.
Fast Hands is a must if you are running an extended magazine attachment because your reload speed is slowed down significantly. Running Fast Hands will allow you to gain some of that speed back, keeping your primary fast and reliable in tense situations. Lastly, go ahead and use Ghost. This way, you will still be kept of the mini-map, even whilst an enemy UAV is active.
