Overview
YuYu Hakusho Final: Makai Saikyou Retsuden ("Ghost Files Final: Strongest Demon Biographies") is a fighting game for the Super Famicom and the fourth and final YuYu Hakusho game to be released for the system. As a fighting game, is has a lot in common with the second SFC YuYu Hakusho game - YuYu Hakusho 2: Kakutou no Sho - and the player can choose between thirteen characters from the anime/manga series, three of which are powered-up/demonic versions of other characters.
The chronology of the Story mode starts towards the end of the Black Chapter Saga, moving through the entirety of Saga of the Three Kings and concluding with a final boss fight with the villain of the 1994 movie, YuYu Hakusho the Movie: Poltergeist Report. The player can also compete in a Tournament mode or a two-player Vs. mode.

- Shinobu Sensui - The antagonist of the Black Chapter Saga. A tall man wearing black with short black hair.
- Shigure - A demon known as the Doctor of Darkness. Fights with a giant ring.
- Shura - A small yet powerful demon clone child of Yomi.
- Majin Yusuke - A powered-up demonic form of Yusuke, who has much longer black hair.
- Fox Kurama - Kurama in his true form, as a tall fox demon with light purple hair and a white gi.
- Armored Sensui - A version of Shinobu Sensui with his golden armor. Greatly enhances defense.
- Raizen - A muscular human-looking demon with a mane of white hair. One of the Three Kings.
- Yomi - A demon wearing red garb who grew extra ears after losing his sight. One of the Three Kings.
- Mukuro - A redheaded woman whose entire right side is burned by acid. One of the Three Kings.
- Yakumo - A secret character who appears in the Yu Yu Hakusho movie.
