Overview
Protocol is a second independent game of Fair Games Studio which is going to be released on Steam, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in May-June. It is also VR supported - playable on Oculus or HTC Vive.
Protocol - is a comical first-person action adventure game with a lot of humor, conspiracy theories, puzzles and also aliens. Action of the game takes place in the Arctic Circle, where a UFO got shot down.
Gameplay
The main character (codename Prometheus) is a wisecracking former soldier who is sent to make first contact with an alien life form and reveal secrets of the complex built around the wrecked extraterrestrial spaceship.
Fulfilling of the task becomes hard when the Protocol program is introduced.
Protocol is a set of strict rules set by the government and controlled by an artificial intelligence (AI). Whenever the player violates the Protocol, AI wishes a nice day and blows up the entire complex and surroundings. The main feature of the game is its story, which little by little narrates itself by giving hints such as bizarre tasks, insane AI, sublevels, new characters etc.
Players have two options at their disposal: either to play Protocol on PC using WASD + mouse, or using a VR headset (HTC Vive or Oculus Rift).
Characters
- Prometheus - sarcastic and adventurous, also lonely.
- AI - mindless machine of mass destruction, controlled by no one. It’s not playable.
